Behind the Scenes! Film Shoot on Long Island With a "Not-Com" Business

Workshop 5 Lights, camera, action!

Name.Kitchen recently wrapped its first film shoot as part of the "I Am ._______" video series. These video vignettes champion innovative "not-com" businesses across the globe -- each one told from the perspective of the entrepreneur, revealing the inspiration behind the business and its name.

Our goal is that each story provides inspiration for and fosters camaraderie with other entrepreneurs -- both the established and the emerging -- and illustrates first-hand how getting creative with a domain name can give wings to a business.

Workshop 11

Our first entrepreneur subject is Dexter Dible, the 25-year-old co-founder of Fathom Clothing (, an edgy Long Island-based clothing company.

He invited our small-but-mighty crew to follow him along for two days. He described the birth of his business while introducing us to the local artistic community fan-base that complements the global following he's gaining with

The film shoot culminated in a Fathom Clothing-sponsored concert in a colorful setting: glass-blowing factory Long Island Glass. (Of course, we couldn't resist suggesting the domain '' to its owner.)
