Get ready to say, “Awwwww.” Because for the past several weeks, rescue-dog owners have been posting pictures and telling the heart-warming stories of their beloved adopted pups on MyRescue.dog. (Yes, that’s “dot-dog,” not “dot-com.”)
The goal of this website is to raise up to $100,00 for rescue groups and shelters across the U.S. Each posted picture triggers a $10 donation to the Petfinder Foundation, while each vote for a dog generates a $1 donation. When the campaign ends on Sept. 25, the dog with the most votes gets $25,000 to donate to his or her rescue group of choice; 15 runners up get $5,000 a piece to donate to their favorite shelter.
